Back in Business

So I finally got my camera back from my parents on Saturday. Now I can make a real post and update yall on whats been going on. Last Saturday was Megan's first shower! It went amazing and it was great to see the smile on her face and all the people that have been dear to her throughout the years. She received so many great things and I think she really had a blast!

Thanks mom for letting us have the shower there!

On Saturday my dad threw and awesome crawfish boil! The weather was perfect and the crawfish was yummy. I ate so much and we still have so much left over so this week I will be cooking something with crawfish, just not sure what yet. Next year we will have it at our house!

Today we went house shopping again. It was a little disappointing because we didn't really find much. Maybe one potential. We still have plenty of time though and we just have to have that feeling like "this is it!" We just haven't gotten that yet. Soon though, soon!

I hope that everyone has a great week and enjoys the weather. Lots going on this week so I will have to post again very soon! xoxo

Reading Material

This weekend was absolutely amazing! I left my camera at my parents house so until I get it back I won't be able to post pictures. So an update will follow soon.

I am in need of some summer reading! Does anyone have any books they want to recommend?

Keith Urban Rocks!

Last night Chris and I went to the Keith Urban concert at the rodeo with our dear friends Jenn & Andy. We had an absolute blast! Thanks guys! I have to say that this was the most amazing rodeo concert I have ever been to!!! He really knows how to work a crowd and get everyone's adrenaline pumping! Not only did he rock the guitar on stage but he made his way to the crowd circling the arena and jumped the rails to sing with his fans! He really is devoted to his fans and it shows. If you haven't seen him in concert before I highly recommend you get tickets the next time he is in town! Did anyone else go last night? If so what did you think? Hope everyone is having a wonder Wednesday! Can the weekend get here already?!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

I hope that everyone is have a very lucky day today and drinking their green beverage of choice! This past weekend was so much fun! We made the trip to Lake Livingston to spend the weekend with some of our closest friends. Although it was cold and rainy, we didn't let it damper our moods. Instead we played beer pong ALL weekend long so I think I am all beered out for awhile. I guess you can tell from that that I didn't do too well and drank more than I could have!

This week is a busy one! Last night I went and ran errands for Megan's shower for this coming Saturday, I can't wait for it to finally be here and be able to post all the pictures from the hard work us bridesmaids have been doing! And then went and picked up my baby from my parents house. She was so excited to see me when I pulled up the drive that she didn't even give me enough time to get out of the car. Its amazing how much you can miss your dog when you haven't seen them in a few days! Tonight we will be seeing Keith Urban at the Rodeo with our dear friends Jenn & Andy! We missed the opportunity to spend time with them on Valentines Day so I am really excited to get to see them tonight! Tomorrow night I have to take a night to sleep (something that I am desperately in need of) and relax. I have been on the go and it feels like its never ending. Then Thursday night Chris and I are having dinner with his godmother Kay. We haven't seen her since Christmas so its a much needed get together! Friday I will be heading out to my parents to help prepare for the shower on Sunday. I am really looking forward to having a girls night with my mom drinking wine, making goodies for the next day and just having great conversations. My mom and I laugh together more now then we ever have before. Growing up you don't really appreciate the ones closest to you until you get older and I am so glad that I am at that point in my life where my mom is the one person that I talk to the most besides my husband. I am so grateful for that! Then Saturday is the big day! Us bridesmaids will be throwing Megan an amazing shower! I really hope its all that she envisions it will be! We have alot planned and alot of people coming! So back to my planning! Hope everyone has a great week!

Chris and I playing beer pong!

I hate to admit this but they were the beer pong champions for the weekend!

Thanks Lauren and Chad for the great weekend! Can't wait till its summertime!

Bring back the heat!

Just when I was getting used to the beautiful warm weather it turns around and gets cold and rainy again...boooo! I cannot express enough how much I am ready for spring/summer time. I long to wear dresses, skirts, short sleeve shirts and bathing suits! Speaking of bathing suits, its that time of the year again to order a new one. As usual, I always get my bathing suits from Victoria Secret. Well I ordered my suit and received it in the mail the other day. I'll admit, my body is not built the way that it was when I was 18, but my mind still thinks it is. Needless to say, I was highly disappointed in the coverage, or lack there of, in the badonkadonk area. So sadly, I had to return it. The older I get the more coverage I need. So it was time to take a trip to Target. Ever since it opened up right across the street (torture to the checkbook) I have been there almost every week. They have some adorable bathing suits! Luckily I was able to find one with better coverage, although I really wanted some boyshort bottoms but they didn't have any. So I got this great black triangle top with a sparrow on it with sequence and paired it with a simple black bottom. I love it and Chris even gave his thumbs up!

This weekend we are headed to Lake Livingston to spend some time with friends away from the city. It was supposed to be warm and sunny so we were going to be laying out and relaxing in the sun. Well I guess it wasn't meant to because its supposed to be cold and rainy all weekend. Oh and guess what, it starts to get warm again on Monday. Go figure! Regardless, we are going to have a blast. Its going to be all about the games this weekend. And the Lenz's are going to kick but in beer pong (Oh yeah Lauren you read this right)! I can't wait to get away even if its not that far. I also hope to spend some time with my grandparents this weekend, as they live in Lake Livingston as well. It's going to be a great one.

The following weekend will be a busy one as well. The sweet bride-to-be, Megan, will be having her first shower thrown by her fabulous bridesmaids, Meredith, Emily S., Emily B. and myself. We are throwing it at my parents house and so I will be staying there the night before to help prepare for the big event. I hope that it is all that she has envisioned. Can't wait to see all the great gifts she will receive and to meet all the lovely guests that will be attending. Plus it will be great to spend time with her bridesmaids as we will be seeing a lot of each other in the months leading up to the big day!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Try to stay warm and dry!

xoxo

Here is a picture of my precious yorkie, Adrienne! (she sticks out her tongue when she sleeps and I caught her as she was just waking up)

YEE-HAW!!!!

Last night was the kick off for the Rodeo and we were fortunate to see RASCAL FLATTS in concert! It was absolutely amazing and the new stage was awesome! It was much improved from the former stage and the sounding was soooo much better this year. I predict a kick butt rodeo season ahead! After a long day of work Chris and I met up with our dear friends Chris & Amy at Flying Saucer to have a drink our two before the big festivities. My Blue Moon hit the spot! After our couple beers and turkey meltdowns we hopped onto the rail train and made our way to the rodeo. As we approached our seats, low and behold, our great friends Jenn & Cory were sitting practically in front of us! It was an awesome surprise to have such a blast with all of them! We sang our hearts out and danced in our chairs as Rascal Flatts preformed an amazing concert! The night ended late so I am extremely tired today but it was absolutely worth it! We have many more concerts ahead and I hope that are just as good as the one last night. Yee-haw!

We can't wait for Saturday when we get to see Trace Atkins in concert and go to the carnival (if Chris' knees can handle it). I hope that everyone is having a great week so far!

Up and running again!

After not having Internet since Sunday (I know long time, huh) I have been dying to blog. I am officially a blog addict. This weekend was an awesome one. Out great friends from Boston came in town and we were so fortunate to get to hang out with them not one but two nights in a row. Friday we had a great game night of Uno Spin Attack and Split Second, not even sure they make this game anymore, but we had an absolute blast testing our skills and knowledge!

Nick & Lindsey

Split Second

Saturday morning Tracey and I had a day of shopping (a great success) and we also got a chance to stop by the model home of the floor plan that Chris and I are hoping to start building some time in May. I love it more and more each time I see it. I was able to find two great dresses at Francesca's and this is one of my great buys. It is perfect for both spring and summer.

It's so soft and colorful!

After a day of shopping and fun it was time to bundle up in our warm clothes and venture out to the Rodeo Cook-Off! IT WAS FREEZING and the wind was gusting!!! But we had such a great time. The food was awesome, the band was kickin it and the beer hit the spot! Since it was so cold and Chris could barely walk, he ran that morning at the Rodeo Run and really injured both knees (going to the doctors on Thursday), we decided to just chill in the one tent. No point in leaving a great spot. Chris, Tracey, Nick, Lindsey and I had a great time! Here are some pictures to show what an awesome & crazy time we had!

He jumped on our table from the stage!

I love him!

Always a good time when she is around! You never know what is going to happen!

Chris, Nick and Lindsey having a blast!

Ok, by the end of the night we were starving again
and nothing sounded better than a "hound dog"

Sunday was a relaxing and peaceful day with no Internet. We were able to lounge around in our pj's and just enjoy the laziness of a Sunday. Tomorrow night we are really excited to be going with our closest friends Chris and Amy to see Rascal Flatts at the Houston Rodeo. Good time with friends, great music and good beer and food, I don't think it gets any better than that! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Blog again very soon! xoxo
