Half Way There

I cannot believe I am half way through my pregnancy.  I must admit it has gone by really fast and so far have been blessed with a pretty easy pregnancy.  Today we had our 20 week ultrasound!  Since we are having a gender reveal it was really hard not to find out the sex today.  Instead we had our envelope ready for the technician to write the gender and sealed it so that there was no peeking involved on the car ride over to the godmother-to-be's house.

The really exciting part was this was the first time since 6 weeks that Chris got to see the baby.  For some reason Chris has either been sick, stuck at work or something crazy happened to prevent him from coming on those days.  But today was priceless. Watching him absorb the experience was an absolute delight and being able to see 10 fingers, 10 toes, the spine, brain, lips, nose and even get to see the baby yawn was more than he/we ever expected!  Our baby is definitely a wiggle worm.  The technician had to move quickly since our baby just couldn't seem to keep still.  We loved every second of it!!! And the ear to ear grin on my hubby's face was the icing on the cake.  I think we have both been on cloud 9 all day!

How far along? 20 weeks.  Half way there!

Maternity clothes?  Everything is in maternity!  I think I am stocked for the summer but  we will see.  Just spent a fortune at Motherhood Maternity the other day but at least it is all comfortable and cute.

Stretch marks? Not yet.

Sleep: Finally got the pregnancy pillow down and wow has it helped.  Still getting up 3 or 4 times a night to pee but I don't think there is an end in site for that.

Best moment this week:  getting to see the baby today and seeing Chris' reaction.

Miss Anything? laying out by the pool with a cold, alcoholic beverage

Movement: all day long and sometimes at night.  This is one active baby!

Food cravings: oatmeal cream pies, sour patch kids and steak.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No, been really blessed

Gender: the big reveal will be this Sunday! Oh the suspense...

Labor Signs: Way too early.

Symptoms: nothing crazy

Belly Button in or out? In, but its really wide and I can see all the way through it.  Very odd!

Wedding rings on or off? On but not for long.  With the summer heat in Houston, my fingers are starting to swell.

Mood: I really couldn't be happier!

Looking forward to: the big gender reveal this Sunday!  Handsome boy or sweet little lady?

Stay tuned for the big reveal on Monday!!!  Happy weekend!

BFF's Gender Reveal

It's been extremely busy here at the Lenz casa!  The bump is getting bigger and bigger by the day.  I was even blessed with the most wonderful Mother's Day gift of feeling the baby for the first time!  What an amazing and bizarre experience.  It's still amazing to me that a baby in growing inside of me.  Now I feel him/her all the time which is so comforting.

This past weekend we were excited to host my best friends gender reveal.  Yes, my best friend and I are only 2 weeks apart.  No, this was not planned.  We always thought that maybe we would have a few months in between our kids but seriously 2 weeks.  And you know that when it gets close to delivery time that 2 weeks can mean days apart.  All in all, it is an amazing experience getting to go through everything together!  So Chris and I hosted their gender reveal and soon they will be hosting ours.

The gender reveal is such a fun event.  For those that do not know what a gender reveal is, it is a party to find our whether you will be expecting a boy or a girl.  You trust one person to be the only one that knows and on the big day you find out with all your close friends and family with a reveal of something pink or something blue.  For Lauren and Chad we did a big balloon presentation!  Here are just a few of the pictures from the amazing day!

Daydreaming of Baby

So when we found out we were pregnant we couldn't help but wonder what our baby is going to look like.  Will they look like Chris, will they look like me or will they have a mixture of us both?  I think this is something that every pregnant couple thinks of.  So this prompted me to go through all of our baby pictures.  It was so much fun going down memory lane and being the hormonal pregnant woman that I am I couldn't help tearing up and daydreaming of our precious baby.  Will he/she have Chris' eyes, my smile, his adorable cheeks and my hair?  Only time will tell!

So while I daydream, here are a few clips of Chris and I growing up just being kids...and a few of us together in this amazing journey of life.

For now it's just the two of us...but come October our family will be expanding!
