Arts & Crafts

It was much needed that Chris and I had a fun filled weekend and that is exactly what we had. We started the weekend off with drinks with friends in Midtown. We had a blast! Although, I can really tell that I just can't hang like we used to. Come midnight we both ready to come home and just conk out. Saturday morning we woke up early and attend a really informational seminar about mortgages and the process of all that goes into buying a house. There is so much that we had no idea about and all the great tips that could really help Chris and I in building our first home together. The rest of the afternoon was spent with dear friends that we just don't get to see as much as we would like! We had a blast at their luau and was able to catch up on what's been going on. We have missed hanging out with them but hopefully once we are closer we will be able to see one another more often. Saturday night was an unfortunate one though. We were not able to go out for one of our best friend's birthdays (Happy Birthday Icon!) because I got really sick that night. Not fun when you can't even sleep cause you feel so crummy. So we owe you a night out Icon! Sunday I was feeling much better so Chris and I joined our friends Lauren and Chad for a day of crawfish and arts & crafts. Crawfish season has finally arrived! I absolutely love my crawfish! We went to the great hole in the wall place that serves the best crawfish. Not too spicy and they are already huge (something rare for the beginning of the season). After we devoured 4 lbs each we headed to their house for arts and crafts. Lauren and I worked on a mosaic project that I have been meaning to start for the last 4 years. Well with the upcoming house now has been the perfect time to start all these little projects. As Lauren and I were putting together the mosaic the boys were inside letting their imagination take over in their paintings. Chris created a great piece of art work and I can't wait for it to dry so that we can hang it up. He has really improved from his last piece of work and over time he will be even more amazing! I hope that everyone had a great weekend and can't wait to hear about them. Have a great Monday!

It's about to get CRAZY!!!

This week has been a crazy week! With trying to get new debit cards, credit cards, drivers license and all the other things that go with being robbed we have been tremendously busy! We are doing our best to move past the awful events that occured last week and trying to focuse on the future. We are even more motivated now than we were before to build our own house. Tonight we have an Open House for the Newmark Design Center to get to know the designers and all they have to offer to make our home beautiful and truly to our taste. Its really got my juices flowing and I am starting to get extremely excited for all the decorating that I will be shopping for! Here are just a few of my inspirations that I absolutely adore and Chris loves them as well (he is very picky when it comes to the interior design of our future house).

If you have any great decorating ideas please share!

This weekend plans to be a busy one! We have birthdays, seminars, a luau, wedding planning fun and its finally crawfish season! Somewhere in there we will try to sleep, lol! I hope that everyone has a great weekend! Can't wait to fill you in next week and I promise to take pictures (i'm so bad at forgetting)!

Scary Night

So last night Christopher and I went through an experience that we never wish upon anyone! Chris was working late last night trying to work some overtime to make a little extra money and came home around 9pm. As he was walking on the sidewalk to the apartment Chris was confronted by two men and was held at gun point. They took his phone and his wallet and then disappeared. He ran into the house and told me to call 911. Chris is fine but we are both really shook up. The cops came and we filed a report and as soon as we were done calling 911 I called our bank and put a hold on all of our cards and his phone. He was not carrying any cash as we normally don't. It is such a scary feeling knowing that we are not safe in our apartment. There is nothing that the apartments can do and we are legally bound to our lease unless we decide to fork over a lot of money to break it. So now we just have to wait and move out at the end of the summer and hope that the house we build will be done on time. If we weren't planning on building or buying a house right now we would for sure be moving to a more safe location but to do so at the moment is not good for us. So here I sit in my living room with the heaviest golf club nearby, praying that all will be well. They know where we live and that is the scary part. With the economy the way that it is, I know that there are some desperate people out there. But I hope that they come to their senses and find another safe way to make it. Please be safe where ever you might be. Times are tough and some people go to the extreme. All we can do is pray to God to help protect us and keep us strong through times like these. I hope that everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Happy Valentines Day!

This past weekend was a fun filled girls weekend! Friday night we had a get together to celebrate our friend Jennifer's new place. It was so cute and we had an absolute blast! Congrats again Jenn! Then early Saturday morning Chris and I met with our Realtor to look at the model home of the house we are considering building. We fell in love with it all over again and can't wait to start the process! It's the perfect house for us. I can't wait to pick out the lot, visit the design center and then actually move in! It's all so nerve wrecking and yet exciting at the same time.

Saturday night I helped co-host an adult fun party. We had such a great time and shared so many laughs! Really, how can you not crack up and blush at these kinds of parties. I think I might have been blushing the most. But non the less we needed a night of fun and a chance to let loose and what a better time then a week before Valentines. The boys were able to get out and have their own fun and went to Dave & Busters. So it was great night to each have our own fun!

There is a lot going on the next few months ahead leading up to Megan and Jonathan's wedding. Lots of planning for showers, get togethers and bachelorette party fun! I have been super busy trying to get things together and coming up with ideas with the other girls. Its been a blast though! Can't wait for the events to get here!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I leave you here with few pictures from the weekend!

Laundry Break

I'm sorry that I haven't blogged lately. We have both been so busy with work, working out, looking for houses and spending time with great friends! But I am using my time wisely (in between loads of laundry). Chris and I had an amazing day yesterday! We met with a mortgage company to discuss our options, although I had no idea what to expect, it went really well. We both left there with a feeling of "we can do this." And we were on the right path of where we need to be. Since it was such a gorgeous day we decided to take the drive out to Katy and look at some builders we had seen. We loved the neighborhood and we loved the layout and design of two floorplans. Now we have to weigh out our options and see what we can do. The school system is great out there and it feels like Sugar Land to me. The town center has great stores (Megan calls it my selling point, lol) and there are tons of trails and parks to explore. Its all so exciting and so terrifying at the same time. We just have to know that if its right it will all fall into place.

Its Super Bowl time again! Although I have no idea who is playing (I am not a football fan), I am really excited to spend some time with friends. We will be watching the game at Chad and Lauren's today with some awesome food, beverages and just alot of fun!

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe Super Bowl day!
