Weekend Agenda

As far as I am concerned the weekend can't get here fast enough! Is it just me or did this week drag on?! I loved my workouts, I had great get togethers with dear friends and received exciting news and to top it off, ladies and gents I chopped off my hair! Yep, I did it! I have been eyeing this haircut for awhile now and finally did it! Mine is a little bit shorter than this but I absolutely love it!!! Pics to come soon!

Ok lets move on to the weekend agenda! First we are starting it off with Happy Hour with our close friends Chris & Amy. We haven't seen them since SEPTEMBER and in my opinion that is just unacceptable. Ok wait, I take that back. The guys just went to Vegas in December but the four of us have not seen each other since September! I am really looking forward to catching up and having a few drinks! Its all much needed!

Tomorrow I am working a Scentsy party and can't wait to mingle with the ladies. I love doing these parties and last month I was top seller in my section! Something I am really proud of. Now this month has been really slow but I already have a few parties lined up for next month! If you haven't seen my stuff go check out my website!

After the afternoon with the ladies its off to celebrate one of Christopher's coworkers bday. This girl is always a blast and every time we get together you are guaranteed a good time. Plus its been awhile since I have really been out partying. There is something about being out in the suburbs that kinda puts a halt to your partying ways. I said kinda! Truth be told my body just can't handle it like it used to, lol!

Sunday is a very exciting day! Our close friends Matt & Natalya will be celebrating their son's first birthday! Ethan is the cutest little thing ever! He is such a happy baby, loves to laugh and absolutely adores jumping around. Back in the day Matt was the wild and crazy one, you know the one that used to go streaking in the neighborhood whenever there was a party. Oh and you may also remember his bum from one of the Halloween pictures I posted in October. Not that you really want to relive this moment but if you need a good laugh here it is here! But now as the years have passed we have all grown up (trust me though the boys still have their inner child's come out when the two of them get together which = trouble) but to see Matt as a father has been alot of fun and very touching. He is such a loving father and absolutely adores his baby boy! So Sunday will be a very exciting day when we get to celebrate Ethan's first birthday with them!

Isn't Ethan just precious!

Now comes the task. What do you get a 1 year old for their birthday? I haven't had much experience in this department since he is the first of our close friends to have a little one but we want to spoil this one rotten. So tonight after happy hour we are heading to Toys "R" Us, wow that sounds like a really bad combo, lol. I seriously can't wait though! I can't remember the last time I was in a toy store but Chris and I both woke up this morning excited for the adventure! Yes I plan on going down every single aisle, lol. But seriously what do I get him? I was thinking of getting one of those little lawn mowers that blows the bubbles (one of both of our fav's from childhood) and then maybe some books and some clothes. But really I have no idea so help a girl out! Like I said I am not opposed to spoiling this little boy!

So that is our weekend in a nutshell. I plan on taking lots of pics and having a ton of fun! I hope that your weekend is just as eventful or even a relaxing one and I can't wait to hear about them all! Happy Friday! xoxo

Loving Life

Things have been going really great lately. Work is getting much better. My roles and responsibilities have changed for the better and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I have been here for almost 5 years now and so much has changed. People have come and gone, we have seen our fair share of layoffs, the ups and downs of a real estate world and my never-ending role changes. But I have to say its been a growing experience and I am proud of where I am today.

A moment of complete honesty, Chris and I were going through a rut and were fighting alot. I know alot of times we only like to share the good news on our blogs and hide the bad. But lets be honest, it happens to us all. Its those hard times that make us so much stronger. We experienced alot of challenges in 2009 our biggest was getting our first house. It's such an exciting time but it can also pile on the stress. I am happy to say though that Chris and are doing soooo much better now maybe even better than before. He is my rock, the love of my life and my best friend! Without him I would be lost. We have been together for almost 7 years now. So much has changed from when we first met and we have grown so much together. We are truly blessed! Marriage isn't always easy but isn't the making up the fun part!

I have really started focusing on getting my body back in shape. My best friend Jenn & I just started up Bikram Yoga. Yes we are crazy! We do yoga in a 105 degree room and sweat our asses off for an hour and a half. But I must say its the best work out I have ever done! Not only do I feel amazing but I can see the difference in my body. I'm toning up tremendously, my posture is aligned now, it has detoxed my body and cleared my mind for a more positive attitude. Even Chris has noticed a difference. Thank you Bikram! Now if it wasn't so expensive I would do it everyday!

Brixie got spayed last week and her recovery went well. She is over 35lbs at 5 1/2 months. She has so much energy and loves to cuddle and play. Now if I can just keep her off the couch! She thinks she is Adrienne's size (4lbs).

Today after work I am going to go get my hair done. I haven't even decided what I want to do with it yet. Go more blond? Cut it to my shoulders? I have no clue! What do you think?

Ok lunch is over and I have to get back to work. Gotta pay the bills you know!

I hope you are all having a great week! And thank you to everyone that reads my blog. You are all such wonderful ladies! I am beyond blessed! xoxo

P.S. exciting news to come in the next few days! NO I AM NOT PREGNANT so get that out of your mind now, lol.

Going to the Chapel!

It's the start of a new year and what a wonderful way to begin it! I am so very excited to share that two of my closest friends have gotten engaged this month. They both deserve the very best and I am so thrilled that I get to share this special time in their life with them!

Jenn is one of my closest and oldest friends. She is the most loving and caring person I have ever known and also one of the strongest. I love her to death and would do anything for this girl! We have both seen each other go through heartbreaks and new loves (like I said she is one of my oldest friends) but when she met Brian I knew he was a keeper! I can't wait to help her plan her big day and to watch her walk down the aisle and to see Brian and Jenn begin their happily ever after. Here are just of few pics of the millions that we have together. I'll save the others for another day!

Congrats Brian & Jenn!

My other dear friend Laura also just got engaged! Laura and I became instant friends when she moved down here from Bowling Green, KY a few years ago. She is so inspirational and her love for God is amazing! When she first told me about Travis her face would just light up and she was the happiest I had ever seen her. I knew then that she was going to marry him.

Jillian Michaels is kicking my butt!

My legs hurt...my thighs hurt...my abs are killing me...I can barely move my arms. Yes, Jillian Michaels is kicking my butt! Over the holidays I sucked it up and went ahead and bought the 30 Day Shred. I had heard such wonderful reviews and its only a 25 minute work out. Ok its been a LONG time since I have worked out and I have put on a few pounds over the last year or two and just want to feel better about myself. And let's face it, bikini season is not so far away! Last summer I didn't even want to be seen in a bikini. I used to do P90X and although I absolutely loved it and it kicked my ass I just don't have an hour and a half a day to work out 6 days a week. It was just waaaaayyyy to much for me. So when I heard how great Jillian Michaels video was I thought I would give it a try. I mean how hard can 25 minutes be compared to what I used to do, right?! WRONG!

I woke up at 4:30am to begin my work out (I'm an early bird and Chris and I carpool to work so I have to wake up early). The moves are realistic for the average person but the constant movement and working out multiple parts of the body at once was intense. I could feel every muscle in my body! Ouch! Although there is pain I am overwhelmed with excitement to see the results that will come from it. I don't need to lose alot but want to tone and I think this will be the perfect way to do it. And to top it off its only $10 at Target!

So have any of you done this and gotten amazing results?

My Heart Aches

My heart aches for all the people in Haiti. As I sit here during my lunch break I keep wondering what more I could do for the devastation that occurred. Chris and I have already donated money but it just doesn't feel like its enough. I just wish there was more. I have kept up with all that has been going on and watched as they have pulled people out of the rummage and its brought me to tears. There are sooooo many loved ones lost and still so many unaccounted for. The most powerful thing we can do right now is pray.

Super Late Holiday Recap

It's absolutely freezing this weekend in Houston! Last night we were in the 18's! I mean come on this is Houston where we wear shorts for the majority of the year and now it is so cold that I don't even want to leave my house. I can't wait for the spring weather to arrive and by the looks of things it is not going to be anytime soon!

Chris and I had a wonderful holiday season filled with lots of love, family and happiness. As sad as it was taking down all the Christmas decorations it was also relief that the holiday craziness was over until next time. Chris enjoyed his Vegas vacation and my ornament exchange party was alot of fun and may become an annual event. We were both spoiled with gifts this season, more than we could have imagined and are grateful for all that we received. This was also a big Christmas for giving. There were lots of presents under our tree for all of our friends and family. It was so exciting seeing everyone open up their presents. But my favorite had to be seeing my sister open her gift. As some of you may know my sister was involved in a bad motorcycle accident back in October. To read about it you can visit my old post here. Well that night she had been wearing a shirt that I had given her a few years back with a rhinestone cross on the front. That cross was all that was left of what she was wearing that night and I truly feel that it helped protect her. I framed it for my sister to always remind her of God's blessings. She unwrapped half of it and was in tears, as was the rest of our family. I am so thankful to have her in my life.

Michele and I

After the holidays were over it was birthday time. That day I had lunch with Jenn & Megan and then that night Chris took me to Perry's Steakhouse. We met a few of our friends and family up there for some good food and lots of laughs.

Chris and I at Perry's Steakhouse for my bday.
New Years Eve was spent celebrating the end of the year in a hot tub with our sweet friends Phil and Brandy. It was a perfect way to spend a freezing cold night. Midnight rolled around and we didn't even realize it until a million fireworks were going off and the neighbors music got 10x louder. It was a great way to ring in the new year.

There are alot of things to look forward to in 2010. But you will just have to wait and see along the way. Lots of projects, vacations and big events will be in store.

Ok I am freezing my butt off right now so I am going to have to leave you for a nice warm spot on my couch with my blanket. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! xoxo

Hello 2010

Yes I am still alive! I have been such an awful blogger! But I am about to get back in the swing of things so expect an awesome 2010 from the Lenz's! 2009 was a big turning point for Chris and I. We bought our first home, participated and witnessed in a wonderful wedding with Megan & Jonathan, added a new puppy to our addition and shared the joy of God's miracle in keeping my sister safe and protected. It was a great year but I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be an AMAZING one. Or at least I have high expectations for it! I have set my 2010 goals and have started the new year with a better attitude towards life. I am excited about what all is to come and can't wait to share the journey with all of you along the way. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and have started off the new year with greatness. Today's post is short and sweet but tomorrow's is going to be a long one so prepare yourself for updates, goals and lots of pictures! Happy Hump Day! xoxo
