Before & Afters

I promise there is a good explanation as to why I have not been blogging lately. Chris and I have been extremely busy getting ready to move into our new house and the day has finally arrived. This past weekend (or I should say since last Wednesday) we have been quite the busy bees completing our first task as homeowners, PAINTING! We painted every room in the house except for the closets! I am exhausted and the lack of sleep is finally catching up to me. I have to thank Jenny, Christopher's mom, for helping us tackle this project. Without her I don't think we would have finished any time soon! So thank you! We have been packing like crazy people and will finally be moving into our new home tomorrow evening! We are so excited and can't wait!

It's about to hit us!

Today is the day that we see OUR house completely empty! The previous owner is officially moving out today and clearing the way for us to begin our tasks as brand new homeowners! As I sit here at work today (obviously my mind is not where is should be) all I can think about is that feeling of unlocking our door and stepping into our new house for the very first time. Today it is going to feel real! Up to this point it has been a feeling of "wow this is awesome, we bought a house but we aren't moving into it yet so we have to wait, we just spent a crap load of money but we can't really enjoy it yet" kinda feeling. Now I think that once we step in the house tonight the shock is going to hit us like a brick wall "OMG, this is really our house, we really bought a house and this is ours, OMG." As scary as this all is, it is also extremely exciting and we can't wait. First is the task of painting the walls which we will begin next week. I'm afraid to show you the before pictures (not my taste at all) so you will just have to wait till I can show you the afters as well. If any of you love to paint just let me know, volunteers are always welcome!

Happy News!!!

I know that I have been MIA lately and I have to admit, I just haven't been in a very blogging mood. Mainly for the reason that I have been soooo busy and I know that I have alot to write about!

Megan & Jonathan's wedding was absolutely beautiful and we had an amazing time!!!! Congrats to the newlyweds! We couldn't be happier to have another addition to the Lenz family and I am so excited to have an amazing sister-in-law! We love yall both tremendously!

I can finally share with you the surprise that I had for Christopher for our one year anniversary! We had an amazing photo shoot with Kevin Patrick Photography. He did an incredible job capturing all the fun we had that day and come to find out paper is supposed to be your one year anniversary gift to one another and what an awesome way to do that with photos!

Wait, there is still more happy news to share! It's official, we are proud homeowners of a house in Katy. Christopher and I closed on Thursday and we can't wait to paint and move into our first home! Ahhhhh...I can't believe it's all really happening! All the stress and crazy times have been completely worth it and now we have something to show for all of our hard work and another adventure to add to our journey! Many of the posts to come will be our adventures in the land of homeowners with projects to do and designing to fit our style. We can't wait!
