Life in 4-D

What an amazing weekend! Chris and I both took a mini trip to Galveston this past weekend to get away and spend some quality time together. We both took half days on Friday and headed down to the ocean. Lots has changed down there with the damage of Hurricane Ike. Many, many, many houses were destroyed or suffered major damage but they we picking themselves back up again and rebuilding. Its been so long since we had last been there but it was somewhat surreal to be standing on the sea wall and remember the news footage of the waves crashing high above it. Its a tragedy to see all the effects that a hurricane can make.

On a positive note we went to Moody Gardens on Saturday! We had not been there since we were little and alot had changed. We got to go on a 4D FX show (they splashed water on us when the whale splashed in the water). It was pretty neat (not as good as Disney though). We also were able to enjoy seeing the penguins! This is something that we have not had at the Houston Zoo in a long time so it was really cool to see. Those guys can swim at some fast speeds!

Don't we look cool in our 4D glasses!

They were so cute!

Yesterday we spent the whole day looking at houses. We visited 10 houses (next time we will not be seeing that many in one day). It was very exhausting and exciting all at once. We got to see some great houses and some not so great ones. Each house had a different layout and design to it. One thing we have been spoiled on is having big backyards growing up, something that they seldom make these days. We saw some great potentials but I don't think we have found "the one" yet. This is something that is going to take time and with such a big decision as it is we are going to take that time and really pick the right house that fits us in all ways. We were able to decide what we really liked and what we could not deal with. We both learned so much and going forward we will be able to better pinpoint what we are looking for.

Well I hope that everyone had a great weekend and a great week ahead! xoxo

Weekend Getaway!

So today Chris and I are both taking a half day at work and then heading out to Galveston for the weekend. It may not be far but sometimes its just nice to get away for the weekend. I am so excited to be spending time with my husband and just enjoying each others company. I haven't been to Galveston since Hurricane Ike so it will be interesting to see how much it has changed. And to make the weekend even more exciting, this Saturday marks 8 months since we were married. Wow! Before we know it our 1 year anniversary will be here!

Sunday will be a very exhausting day! It will be our first time to go out and look at houses. We meet with our realtor at 1pm and then from there we will be busy visiting 10 houses! Its so exciting and overwhelming at the same time. We are both ready to be out of our apartment and into something with space. Hopefully we will see some things we like but this is the pickiest I have ever been, with good reasons. We can't wait to have a home to call our own! Also a big event on Sunday, our friend Matt and his wife Natalya will be inducing her labor. We hope to be there for the birth of their first son, Ethan! Its a very exciting moment time in their lives and we will be praying for a very healthy and happy baby!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will update you all on Monday! xoxo

THE START OF A NEW YEAR

2009 started off with a bang! We played it safe and went to our close friends house for a night of games and fun times. So far its been a busy month but not a hectic one. I started my P90X program on the 5th and I am proud to say that I have been keeping it up! I wake up at 4am to workout (just because I know I won't do it in the evening) and then I make my meals for breakfast and lunch and then off to work I go. Its not easy when lunch time comes around since we get lunch brought in everyday. But I am staying strong and sticking to my plan! Its totally kicking my butt though! I am motivated to be healthy in 2009!

I am excited to be getting out of town this weekend, even if its not very far. We leave Friday for Galveston just to have a relaxing weekend. Even though its freezing outside I can't wait to take a walk on the beach and feel the sand through my toes.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years! I'll update again later this week!

xoxo
