add a little SPICE to your life

My husband loves all things spicy. If it doesn't have jalapeƱos or saracha sauce on it you better believe he is going to add it and not just a little but ALOT and to everything! The other day I came across this recipe on Style & Grace and immediately thought of him! He loves a good margarita but I think that this might top them all! Can't wait to greet him after a long day at the office with one of these. What a great way to kick off the weekend!

Based on Tim Love's Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita
Lonesome Dove, Fort Worth, Texas
(Serves 4)

8 1/8-inch slices of jalapeno

8 1/8-inch slices of cucumber

2 packets of Splenda (he uses real sugar)

8 oz. Cointreau

10 oz. Patron Silver tequila

Juice from 2 limes

4 lime wedges

Large ice cubes

Kosher salt

Using a mortar and pestle, grind 4 slices jalepeno, 4 slices cucumber into 1/4 cup sugar. Pour mixture into a shaker. Add tequila, Cointreau and lime juice. Fill shaker with ice and shake heavily. Rub rim of 4 highball glasses with lime wedges and coat with salt. Fill with ice. Give the shaker one more shake and strain contents into each glass. Garnish with jalapeno and cucumber slices.

Doesn't that sound delicious!?

Friday can't seem to get here fast enough. Chris has the day off tomorrow and will hopefully get alot done so we can have a nice relaxing weekend. We are hoping that our headboard will be ready this weekend but aren't going to get our hopes up and there are still a few small things that I need to do around the house. At some point I envision myself laying out, soaking up some sun, with a Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita in one hand and a book in the other! Sounds like heaven to me!
